This is happening around the corner from my house. The line actually wraps back on itself twice! I think it’s funny how churches back in Arkansas think they are doing God’s work by building huge churches while a church here in SF does this all the time!

My New Telecommunications Team

My Samsung Epic got repaired with no deductible (thanks Sprint even though you didn’t know I stomped it’s guts out on purpose) so decided to keep it and buy the $30/mo hotspot app so I don’t have to deal with Comcast! Then I decided to get an Asus EeePC to serve my computing needs in the absence of my work laptop which I have to turn in tomorrow. It has an HDMI output and Bluetooth so I can hook it up to my flatscreen TV and stream Netflix. So far the 4G hotspot is working well, but then I haven’t left the store yet. Anyway, I have a phone again so get at me! 415-68-484-86

Homeless Wassailing: an idea submitted for your approval

"I'd like to go caroling" I thought to myself. This was an odd desire for a self-proclaimed humbug, but I don't really question my urges these days. Getting together with a bunch of friends and wandering around San Francisco singing songs sounds like great fun, and I starting thinking about how I could get enough people to come join me. Then I had an idea. Wassailing as it was called before the Catholic Church started making everyone wear red, and green and buy stuff, was a tradition of going from house to house singing songs to spread health and happiness. But in my new neighborhood the people who need health and happiness the most don't have homes. So, what if instead of going door to door, we went street by street singing for the homeless? I know what you're thinking; if I was begging for change in the cold the last thing I want is a bunch of hipsters coming up to me all sunshine and rainbows and singing to me. But what if instead of singing *to* them, we sang *for* them, in order to attract the donations of people passing by? Maybe we could even come up with some songs to work their names into, to make them feel special. That and we can of course have some hot buttered rum to pass out. So I thought I'd ask you—my followership—if you'd participate in such a silly endeavor, risk cold and embarrassment for the possibility of bringing some positive energy to those who need it most, or do you think we'd surely be overtaken by throngs of street people clamoring for our rum? What songs would they want to hear most? And what stunts could we perform to bring the most positive attention to the sick and weary people we'd be singing for? Most of all I want to know; who's in?

They call this a “Tendernob”, and the apple pie was delicious. The owners are like my next door neighbors! She said “it’s not that bad here. I mean there are shenanigans, but I kinda like shenanigans”. Me too!
